The Type Rating course teaches you to fly the particular type of the passenger jet you will be working in. It usually starts within 2-3 months of the assessment and it takes place at one of Ryanair training centres in Europe. It consists of:

• 6 weeks of Ground training​
• 6 weeks of Simulator training​
• Base Training (circutis in a real airplane): 1 day​

Then the student has 1 week of supernumerary (jumpseat) flights ​and starts the LIFUS (Line Flying Under Supervision), which takes 6-8 weeks. Then finally he or she is a Second Officer at Ryanair and starts line flights with regular captains.
